Hello. I’m a newbie with Kiri:Moto, but have been generating G-Code for CNC’s since 1975! I cannot get KM to load. Tried both down-load versions from GitHub and also on-line via FireFox, Chrome, and Edge. All I get is a white screen and “Kiri:Moto is loading.”. Please help an old man who is slowly loosing his mind. Thank You!
well that’s no good. when you’re running inside Firefox, Chrome, Edge, are there any errors on the Javascript console? if you get the same result when running the windows binaries, then it could be a graphics card driver issue. is it windows? or linux?
Well, this is very nice! A reply from the K:M Man himself! Thank you, Sir! I’m attempting to run the latest GitHub down-load version from Windows 10. Is the Javascript console the same thing as the Browser Console in Firefox? If yes, then yes, there are about a dozen error message in red, under “Browser Console Mode:” > “Parent process only (Fast)”. Sorry, I’m more of a mechanical & G-Code guy, and never learned Java.
I can’t get it to run from the command line under Windows. Sorry. I spent a bunch of time on it without luck. I’ve only been able to use the desktop electron builds. There was a time a few years back when it did work, but something changed and I don’t know what. I’m not a Windows dev and the cmd line tools don’t work the same there. I tried cygwin and wsl without luck.
The JS console in Chrome and the cmd line are not the same. I was asking if it runs normally inside your browser using Kiri:Moto on the live web site on grid.space and if you saw JS errors there.
Thank you again for your reply. I’m sure I would be happy to use the “desktop electron builds”. Sorry to be so ignorant, but I have no idea what that term means, nor how to do it. I’ve never even heard the term, “electron build” until now. Some guidance, please? Thank you, Sir!
you can download binary builds here
and I assume you know you can run it directly off the web site. it runs entirely in browser and doesn’t do anything in the cloud. all your data stays local in your browser.
Thanks for your patience with me. OK, so, as you noted earlier, K:M won’t run under Windows. And, since I’m not running Linux and I’m not running Mac, I won’t even try those. That leaves the two “Source Code” files. One is a .zip and the other is a tar.gz. I’ve un-zipped the the zip, and looked through all the contents. What should I look for, or what should I do next? BTW, I’ve tried running directly off the web site, but K:M won’t load there either. I’m not worried about where my data is… local or cloud, doesn’t matter. Thanks!
you won’t be able to use the .zip or .tar.gz if you can’t run the .exe … and if it won’t run on the web site, then there must be an error on the Javascript console in the browser which could provide a clue.
google “how to find the chrome javascript console”
a) try to load KM in chrome
b) open javascript console (tray will slide out)
c) click the page reload
d) watch the console for an error
can you tell me more about your computer / windows version / graphics card?
The javascript console returns this message after reloading the page:
“www-widgetapi.js:199 Failed to execute ‘postMessage’ on ‘DOMWindow’: The target origin provided (‘https://www.youtube.com’) does not match the recipient window’s origin (‘https://www.google.com’).” I get that message twice.
Running Windows 10 Pro, Version 22H2. CPU: Pentium Dual-Core 2.60GHz
64-bit O/S, x64-based processor, 4GB RAM.
Graphics Adapter: Intel G41 Express Chipset Graphics Memory: 1695MB
and you’re loading Kiri:Moto directly from https://grid.space/kiri ? if so, that’s very curious since the page has no external dependencies and should not load anything from youtube or google. the only what would happen is if your browser has an extension or plugin that loads other code into web pages.
Very sorry… I got my browsers & pages mixed up. Like I said, I’m an old man, 77, slowly losing my mind. The correct javascript console return from Kiri:Moto has a couple dozen messages in red, and a dozen more in yellow.
is it possible for you to take a screenshot and drop it here?
that’s from Firefox and it looks like it has some extensions loaded. and perhaps it’s an older browser? can you do this in a new Chrome browser?
this is a graphics card / driver issue. you need to be able to run WebGL (3D browser content) in order to run Kiri:Moto – the fact that the .exe builds do no work indicates this is a system issue and not a browser issue.
I don’t have Opera, but I have tested with Opera GX and language switching works as expected there.
hello, I have the same problem as Vybiral but I found a solution:
in Edge, kiri moto remains on a white screen where it says “kiri moto is loading”.
I tried KM some time ago without any problems, then there was an update Bebert_Labricole’s reply, as translated using Google Translate:
KM and since then no way to open it. I waited and despite the updates, nothing changed.
I installed KM as a program and the same, still the white screen.
I wanted to change internet explorer to try, and KM works under Opera.
the problem is that in Edge the automatic translation works well, but in Opera, I cannot put it in French, when I choose the FR language, KM restarts but it always remains in English.
