Hi

I use KM for tool paths for a CNC router mainly used as a milling machine cutting aluminium.

Like all software and users we would like to see tweaks to suit our needs, here are a few of mine.

  1. When running an animation on a multiple operation project I’d like there to be an indication of which operation was being animated at that moment , for example the background of the operation box changing colour.
  2. The ability to set flood or mist coolant for each operation that switches off at the end of that operation. Although many users will not be cutting metals that require coolant the ability to turn on an air blast jet to clear swarf (chips) would be useful to those cutting plastics or wood.
  3. The ability to change the colours of the stock and model in animations would be a great help with differentiation particularly if the user has problems percieving colour.

This is just my wish list and without these addition the software still remains a great product especially for those new to CAM.

For #2 you can use the custom gcode operation to insert instructions for turning coolant on/off between operations according to how your machine works

I’d like it if you could have a library of custom operations each being a macro with a set of parameters that you can quickly include in the job
