I can’t find the New Project option. I have modeled a CAM project and now I want a new Project but there isn’t any New Project under Files, where is it?
Kiri:Moto doesn’t have a concept of projects, it’s just a single scene with the imported models in the browser memory I believe.
So I have to delete all my model information, tool operations, etc… to get to a point of a new project? Thats crazy
No, you can export all the project data to a file, then when you want to continue working on it you can import it again, that’s basically the project.
I get that, but when I browse to the home page it always opens my last project. How can I start a new one without deleting everything?
You save your current one to a file by exporting it, then you clear everything and start a new project in place of it. Like you would in most applications.
Clear everything how, one by one, then delete my tool operations… Really? No that’s not like any other application I have ever used. I don’t have to delete each word of a text document to start a new file.
In the current release of KM 4.1.1
that will clear the workspace and any operation chains. for historical reasons, there is no concept of switching workspaces. you can export and import workspaces as .kmz
files from the same menu.
implementing some sort of switchable workspace concept is possible in the future. it would require reworking internal data structures in a way that might not be backward compatible.
prior to this menu item, the workflow was usually: ctrl-a + delete key or shift + z key
