Two pass when wanting one pass

I set step down at .03 " and z bottom at -.02" …the part is .016 thick I should only have one pass .03 down from the top of the part…I am missing something or what?

I think that’s totally logical… you have 0.016 material + 0.02 z-bottom… that is 0.036 and your stepdown is 0.03… so you need 1 more pass of 0.006 to get to the full depth…
