I’m trying to lay out multiple copies of a simple object for CNC milling, I want to space them at the diameter of the tool so I don’t waste material. In Preferences I’ve set display units to mm, and layout spacing to 1, but when I click Arrange the objects are spaced at about 5mm. Changing the spacing always Arranges the object at a much wider spacing than the spacing setting.
Is this a bug in the software, or a bug in the inexperienced user?
It looks like there is some legacy code in there that tries to space parts at a minimum distance of the largest selected tool diameter. But it does not take into account more recent operation chains.
I deleted the Operations List and it now sets the right spacing, so that does seem to be the problem. But I needed to delete a lot of the Objects first, as the Operations List had disappeared off the bottom of the screen and I couldn’t see any way to scroll down to it. I need to cut out 32 identical objects. I’m using Firefox on Linux Mint if this might be a browser problem.
