Saving custom machine settings across browsers

First - thank you again for such an amazing tool. I have been using Kiri:Moto to generate my XCarve gcode for a few years, but just recently purchased my 1st 3D printer.

Kiri has been working great for slicing my 3D prints, but one thing that I have find a little tedious is that my custom machine settings (and slicer profiles) are tied to each browser I use and are, as a result, somewhat ephemeral.

It would be nice if there was a way to save my settings and access them from another machine. I’ve found the export/import of .km files feature, but would prefer to not have to remember each time whether I’ve sync’d settings from one job to another, if I happen to change computers.

I realize that this probably requires some sort of server back-end and user accounts, and I’ll come out and say that “yes”, I would be willing to pay a small monthly fee for this service.

Thanks again - love the app and hope things are going well.

Roger

Hi Roger,

It just so happens that I recently added an experimental sync service under the settings menu to do just this. Please try it out and let me know if it works for you. The first machine registered with an email address becomes the record that will be shared with other machines that sync using the same email address or token. You can re-use the first token sent for all subsequent machines instead of going through the email validation each time.

Sync is live once setup. Each time you open the device or settings dialog, it checks to see if any other device has updated the record and if so, it grabs the new data.

Wait 10 seconds between page load and doing any new device setup or you’ll get an error. This was the simplest bot deterrent I could implement.
