Rough then Pocketing: air cuts

Maybe this was addressed in a post I saw back from December '22 and is still in the works:

If I perform a roughing operation followed by a pocketing operation, the pocketing operation results in a lot of air being cut where the rough op has already removed material. While the part machines nicely in the end, there’s a lot of time wasted on the pocketing cuts.

Here’s a simple part to demonstrate, if needed.

Pocketing Test.kmz (433.9 KB)

And thanks again for making and maintaining Kiri:Moto!

At present, KM does not keep track of material removed between ops. “rest machining” is on the todo list.

Hi,

Any update on the air cuts?
It would be a monumental improvement if subsequent cuts could know what has already been removed.

Thank you

This requires a relatively large change to the internals. There are other bits I need to refactor first so that I don’t end up doing the same work twice. But still high on the list.
