Pick holes one at a time

the cutting this part very slow because of much travel between holes for step down….would be better if I could pick one hole for the rough or outline operation ….do that 4 times and the holes would be done one at a time….work around is let it run or have 4 different parts ….unless I am missing something,…..talking about milling the holes an c’sink pocket

there is a workaround for this using trace. it’s not 100% intuitive. you create a trace for each hole selecting the part base as the outline and select the hole tops to ignore or knock out leaving the hole you want to mill as the result area. see attached. I agree there should be a better workflow for this using a single op.

I am assuming you are going to improve an add selection feature to rough when you get some free time (ha ha) …try as I might I was not able to duplicate the trace you had and I had to revise the part….anyway I got it cut just had to hit the bottom of the c’bore with a c’sink tool off the machine. I might play with it more if the issue comes up again…by then you might have made it better. Thanks its a great program.

This work around worked although needed to delete browsing data to load all 4 parts.

that’s a creative solution.
