Missing slices after importing Kiri moto Stl file to Rhino

Hi , can someone help me with an issue I encountered when importing the Kirimoto stl file to Rhino?

I have done the slicing in Kiri moto. However when I open the stl file in Rhino for printing, there are slices that are missing.

Does someone know why?

cheers
Emma

Hi Emma,

It’s entirely possible the output from Rhino is not a manifold 3d object (i.e. “watertight”). Are you able to share your workspace (files → export) or object with me for analysis?

Thanks,
Stewart

One thing I tell students is to bring their stl back into Rhino after exporting and viewing with flat shading turned on. Also run the check command on it. It won’t fix it, but it will let you know if there is a problem. If you have Rhino 8 the Shrink Wrap command is kind of magic

Thank you Stewart for offering your help. Could you let me know what type of files you need for the checking? Will the STL file I exported from Rhino into Kiri Moto before slicing work? Also, how can I share the file with you if it’s too large?

an STL is fine. you could use any cloud file service (google drive, dropbox, onedrive, etc) and share a link that way.

Hi Stewart,
Please find the links to the files below.
Thank you for your time, and let me know if you have any issues opening the files.
