I may be using the wrong operation. I played with a few of them. The first two roughing operations look good, first roughs with a bigger bit second finishes with smaller. Both bits are too big to do the detail around the arm and fingers. I thought pocket would be good and it would be if I could limit the depth of cut. My 1/32 bit will only cut to about 3mm deep and the slice shows it much deeper. I really only need it to cut the very small details near the surface.

let me know if this does what you want. I’m using a trace
op (ctrl + click the bottom of one feature selects all traces on the same Z) then using a z-bottom override in that operation instead of globally. if you use global z-bottom it will show you the limit plane, but it then applies to all ops. so it’s good for visualizing and testing then moving that value to the trace
op overrides.
experiment with the global z bottom
and this will make sense.

Thank you Stewart, I will play with that.
