Greetings fellow grid-heads! I went searching for an alternative to Carbide Create Pro and saw words that led me to believe that kiri:moto can do engraving gcode from gray scale PNG’s? I tried, and am here now to ask, “What, exactly, are the image file format requirements?”. I get a whole lot of nothing after hitting ‘Convert’ following the setting of blur=5,base=1,border=1 (except the dialog box goes away). Or… does it just take more than 10 minutes? I have tried 500x300x16 levels (4-bit) , jpg and other resolutions… but nada.
I can confirm that image imports are broken in 4.3.2. We’ll get that patched shortly.
In the meantime, you can drop down to version 4.2 with the version chooser:
You will need to hold shift and click the reload the tab when you re-open Kiri:Moto, in order to clear the old version cache.
I was able to successfully generate a mesh with an image in v4.2 with a blur value of 5.
Again, sorry we didn’t catch the production issue, and I’ll post here when it’s fixed.
fixed for the next release. thanks for the report.
