How to get a good surface finish

I’m no expert and cnc milling is still a steep learning curve. I’m trying to get a good surface finish on an external surface of a cone in aluminium. I have tried using pocket contour operation with a 6mm diameter round nosed cutter with a10% step over. The cone is 50mm at the base and reduces to 35mm with a 20mm height change.

Has anyone got any advice?

high rpm low depth of cut….ask ChatGPT AI for speeds and feeds based on cutter diameter and other settings. Tell it you want a good finish….I cut .005 to .010 deep 16000 to 30000 rpm with 1/8 diameter. It will change depending on your tool

thanks

I’ll give it a try with a 3mm cutter

my numbers inch……005 (.127mm)….I also read single flute endmill does not load up
