Hoping someone will tell me if I am on the right track.
I do not use my home switches, rather I randomly put it out there on the spoilboard.
I have figured out how to have my 0,0,0, on the deck away from my project, I wish to do tool changes.
If I add the line G91 G28 Z100.0 In the footer just before M30 . Will my router rise up to 100 (safely clearing my project) they return to the start point of 0,0,0, and then end program?
Now I can lift the z change bits, drop the z down to the deck re-zero z and then go with the next operation.

Hey there,
I’m glad to hear you’re making progress in your CNC learning.
I’d check your machine’s manual or documentation to first see if that gcode is supported, and how it works with your system specifically. In general, you do seem to be on the right track. If you specify an x y z coord in your G28, your machine will go there before returning to your local zero.
I found a graphic that explains this well on gcodetutor:
Hope this helps!
BPL,thankyou.
I will try a piece of foam… or air cut. My machine is not actually an official anything. Drivers are screwed to the wall, Cable tray is bundled wires on pulley track. Miracle is, it works!
This is going to be my first attempt at something that requires tool changes. I did manage to mill 6061 aluminum. My intent was only wood.
