Hello people smarter than me! I originally bought an Adventurer 5M Pro and I am learning pretty well on that so far.
I have also purchased a FlashForge AD5X for multicolor printing. On the 5M Pro I have to use the Flashforge Finder device in KM. When I tried to get this device in KM to work on the AD5X, I could not get anything to print. I switched to the Flashforge Guider II in KM and I was able to get a print out of it, however my axis are way off and not sure it it is me, my gcode, or something else. One of the little tests that I ran shows in the middle of the grid in KM, however in the AD5X it prints in the bottom left of the printer.
I then did 4 guitar picks as shown below that are in the top right in KM, and when I printed them they print in the bottom left (again). Any thoughts? This prints just fine on the 5M Pro with the Flashforge Finder selected.
Most of the Flashforge printers that I’ve encountered have a quirk where they use center of bed as origin (0,0). Most other printers use origin as the front-left of the bed. To create an AD5X profile:
Thank you Stewart!! This tip absolutely helped. My centering is still not perfect but getting there. I reconfigured just the naming and turning off the origin centering and got it to print. i adjusted the workspace to be closer to my actual build plate measurements and the centering got even closer. i will continue to play with this workspace detail to get a true center. thank you again for your help!!!
I also played around with the workspace on my other printer and renamed that one as well to make it ‘mine’. i can see the benefits of having your own personal machines.
once you get it dialed in, I would appreciate it if you could export your device and post it here or send it to me. I can compare it to the version I have in Kiri and make adjustments.
