Can you tell me what I missed, that Kiri divided the inner cutout into sections? Besides that it produces extra passes, which do not seem to be needed.

Since there is no need to use “rough” for this operation, I switched to “outline” and “voilà ” it worked like a charm.
ok, that is really odd. let me see if I can figure out what’s happening in roughing to cause this.
