CNC hangs on Slice

New issue popped up yesterday and I cannot find a similar issue or solution.

Using grid.space site and the Onshape app, if I load a part, set up simple CNC operation (like rough), then click Slice, Preview, Animate or Export, the site hangs on Slice and never progresses. Tried both the site and Onshape app in multiple browsers, at home and at work. Same issue.

Sequence of issue:

  • Everything was working fine, set up a part to cut on cnc router.
  • Hour later, parts would not load into Kiri, reloaded page, all of my saved machines were gone (in Onshape app)
  • Reset all cnc settings, loaded part, it worked.
  • Hour or so later, parts would import, I could see my machine, setup operations, but would hang on slice. And it’s been that way for 12+ hours.

Anyone else ever had this happen?

Problem sorted… sort of. Everything works perfectly on a different computer. By my desktop all of a sudden cannot do CNC. FDM, SLA, they all work fine. Some sort of issue on this computer I’ll try to fix. Glad that Kiri is still running fine and it was just me.

I had a similar issue once and it seemed that some trace, helical or drill operation had bad/wrong geometry selected (for what reason ever). Removing all operations and building them up from scratch or even clearing entire workspace solved the issue for me (clear cookie and site data).
