Carved lines help needed

Hello,

I have the attached outline project, and I want to carve some lines on the house so it looks like:

I have the different parts ready for outline, but I don’t know how to tell KM that I want these horizontal lines + the vertical ones on the door. It is meant to be on MDF wood 3mm thick, and I want the lines to be 0.5mm deep.

If I draw the lines in the model, they seem to disappear when imported into KM. Any idea about how to include the lines in the project?

Thanks!

the easiest way to do this is to model the lines as a V groove. then use trace and select the bottom center of the V

Thanks Stewart.

The thing is that I am starting with a csv that looks like this:

When I import it into KM, the lines in the house are gone. My expectation would be that I can import this csv and the lines are kept as objects themselves, even if it is necessary to import the lines on a separate file. I cheated by adding a 90º arch on the sheet origin to keep my 0,0 coordinates steady on the 2 documents, removed the lines from the shapes file and created a new file only with the lines, but importing the lines file does not have the desired effect, and I see no object in KM work area.

Once I have the lines, my idea is to outline the shapes (3mm) and on a different operation trace 1mm the lines with the V-bit.

Thanks for your time!

SVGs are extruded into solids by Kiri. Lines that do not form closed polygons cannot be turned into 3D features automatically at present.
