Adding new tools - tapered 1/32 ball mill

I am new to CAM, coming from 3D printing. Kiri:Moto has been a great tool so far.

I am trying to engrave my logo into something small. I am practicing with something slightly larger, which is a small sign.

I exported a 3MF file from Shapr3d, where I used a projection of the logo to create an inset shape.

Using the pocketing operation and the 1/16 end mill, I am able to get the engraving to mostly work, with some trouble with a very small letters.

I have a 1/32 tapered ball nose bit, so I figure it should do a better job in the small spaces:

But when I use that bit, there are almost no tool paths.

Either I’m using the wrong kind of bit, or I have miss-entered the new bit:

Any input?

I was able to use a trace op to get an outline, but when I set it to “clear” I get the same result as with the pocket operation. Will require more digging. KM doesn’t like something about the geometry, but I’m not sure what quite yet.

ok, when I set it to the 1/16" tool I get this, which is correct. so it’s the fact that KM is using the shaft diameter for the tip with clearing ops. and this makes sense. KM does not compute complex geometries for tool tips unless you use contour or lathe operations, which would be inappropriate in this case.

so a workaround is to create a flat endmill with the diameter you want to offset and use that to cut with your taper mill. if you choose tip width, you will get a chamfer on the letters. and that could be appealing.

Ah, I see. Thank you for the help!
