Love the mill. Will you be publishing a CAD model for it?
Short answer: yes.
At least I intend to. But not today. I’m closer to publishing a somewhat parametric model of the slider mechanism.
Here’s an Onshape model of the linear slide mechanism generalized for generality:
The mill is three of those, so a complete for-publication model shouldn’t be far behind. Modulo Christmas. And other stuff. So not promising super-soon.
And a Happy New Gear! Thanks for sharing this.
Four months and a few revisions later…
Here is, I think, enough info to actually build a slide for real:
That presentation starts with a handwheel-driven adaptation for a shorter path to building/using a slide of such design without a bunch of motor-related complexity, and also includes said bunch of motor-related complexity.
Now, about that built-but-not-yet-tested next rev of the little mill’s XY table…
and checking out Stewart’s considerable advancement of KM.
Aluminum.

Maybe getting runout under control? Let’s see if an even littler diff works out:
Since last post, the 2021 Hackaday Prize judges gave this little mill a “finalist” spot.
K:M CAM keeps getting better! Much appreciation.
I remember this model Looking good!
