# Cannot get wide cutout to work

Hi all, I am having an issue on CAM under outline. Wide cutout seems not to be working this past week which causes my contour to run onto deep sides. I tried an older version with no success. Should I wipe my history maybe?

I tried to work around it with pocket expand but that also didn’t seem to work the way I imagined it may. Probably because the geometry is not and actual pocket. Thanks in advance

Ok, sorted. It seems it only works when “outside only” is selected.

correct. `outside only` causes it to use the part’s base shadowline vs waterline. all stuff I need to doc better. you can’t wide cutout the waterline. that wouldn’t really make sense.
