Now it is working. I tried another onshape document. Then came back to this one an now it is working. Sort of.
Reloaded workspace. All I want to do is cut and clear out the top pocket. Is there a configuration where this us possible?

yes, using the trace operation and selecting the bottom of the pocket to clear. workspace attached.
